Household Essentials

For many of us, the majority of our time is spent at home so we should ensure that the items we bring into our home are useful, and effective but also safe for our bodies. All of these suggested products are free from environmental toxicants such as fragrance, sulfates, phthalates, triclosan, parabens and other harmful toxicants. Many happen to be low-waste as well.

Water Filters

Berkey Water Filter

The Berkey system effectively removes impurities like chloramines, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and heavy metals while keeping in the beneficial minerals. The system uses carbon filters and gravity to filter providing you a low cost energy efficient way to filter your water.

Shower Filter

Reduces harmful environmental toxicants such as chlorine, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, and dirt from your shower water, helping to restore your hair and skin

Household Cleaning

All Purpose Cleaning Concentrate

Use this one concentrate of Branch Basics for almost every surface you could possibly clean in your home. Simple, toxin free solution to a clean home.

Laundry Detergent Pods

Finally, a laundry detergent that is both toxin free and low waste.

Wool Dryer Balls

Dryer sheets are filled with VOCs like acetaldehyde and butane. No thanks I’ll take these natural fiber wool dryer balls.

Kitchen Necessities

16 oz Mason Jars

Mason jars are the most universal kitchen essential. Use them for leftovers, vases, pen holders and so much more. This is my favorite size.

Pyrex Storage Containers

Aim to avoid storing food in plastic, especially oily and acidic foods. These Pyrex dishes are safe glass.

Pyrex Storage Lids

Finding storage lids without plastic is difficult. These are made of glass and silicone.

Lunch Box

The perfect double decker stainless steel to go container for lunch or to bring berries home from the market without it getting squished in a bag.

Electric Kettle

I can’t imagine my kitchen without an electric kettle. This one is completely plastic free on the inside.

Cotton Mesh Bag

I swear by this mesh bag. It’s small and light enough to fit in a pocket or small purse but expands so wide to fill plenty of groceries, books, or whatever your heart desires.

House Plant Essentials

House Plant Fertilizer

Fertilizing can be complicated and many are made with synthetic chemicals. This one is gentle, organic, made from fish and seaweed. My plant babies love it.

Glass Spray Bottle

I mostly use this for misting my plants. Indoor plants don’t receive rain to clean their leave so you have to be the rain for them.

Moisture Meter

Take the guessing out of when you should water next. General rule of thumb is let your plants get into the dry zone before watering so you don’t risk root rot.
