13. Sugar is Your Friend Not Your Foe

 

In our modern nutrition world sugar and carbs are one of the most feared foods. But the truth is that sugar and carbohydrates are largely misunderstood. We often think that sugar and carbs are a major and the reason we're developing hormone imbalances, insulin resistance, and weight gain. But the actual reason we develop these imbalances are due to modern living and highly processed modern foods such as high stress hormones, vegetable oils, synthetic additives, and fake sugars.

The truth is sugar and carbs are the body's preferred sources of energy. If we cut sugar from our diets, our body sends a signal to increase stress hormones in order to obtain energy. Over a long period of time the body breaks down resulting in hormonal imbalances and numerous unwanted symptoms.
